〈貞〉正也， 事之幹也，貞固足以幹事。貞者，固守正道，堅貞不移。

〈Zhen〉 means integrity, which serves as the pillar of achievements, and when integrity is secured, achievements can be attained. Zhen means observing the Righteous Way faithfully and steadfastly.

とは、「正」の意味で、「事の幹」を指さし、正しい素行を固く守っていれば事を完成することができるのを意味します。また、「貞」たる者は、正しい道を固く守りつつ、絶対に動揺しない人であります。
